Do they mean that God is the God over the light, like if light would choose whom to serve it would choose God. Or does it mean that he is the God of good Does this mean that He is the God of the light, if light would be a person, God would be his God. To make it more simple, with in my opinion more meaninful terms, and with the context I gather from the bible verses, the writer(s) of the song mean it to say. Yahweh is Elohim of the light. I don't know if this is taking things to literal, but in my opinion is Yahweh, El Elyon, there is no one higher. He is the God of everything, doesn't matter if you choose to worship him or not, that doesn't change his title.
